Mr W. F. Worley. who lias been a teacher in the service of the Nelson Education Board for the past thirty-five years, has retired on superannuation. Mr Allan Hamilton has retired from the theatrical business, with which he has been connected for more than 30 y«irs. He proposes to leave for England by way of China and Japan early in November and spend a year on a holiday abroad. At last night's meeting of tho Manawatu Trotting Club, Mr G. Mollroy, the hon. treasurer of the club, was tho recipient of a handsomely framed photograph of tlie committee and stewards, from the members. Mr Nathan, who made the presentation, eulogised the work Mr Mcliroy had done in the interests of the club and trotting in this district. »

A quiet •wedding was solemnised at, St. Thomae' Church, Sandon, yesterday, when Mr William Thomas, teacher at. the Marion Technical School, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Matilda Claribel. eldest daughter of Mr Robert Henderson, a well-known settler of Ohakea. Rev. J. Blsckbourne officiated. There was a large number present at the ooremony.

The death is announoed of one of Wangsnui's old residents in the person of Mr William Seeling, at the age of 75. Mr Seeling, who was well known and highly respected, was for many years night-watchman, but retired some thirteen or fourteen years ago. when lie was employed.by tho , Borough.Council, as collector.
