DEMONSTRATION AGAINST A JOCKEY.

Th Good wood Handicap resulted as follows: —Widgiewa 1. Rocai 2, lownit 3. Won by a neck, half a length between second and third. Twenty-seven started. Time, 1.14 —a record for the race. Elder Stakes. —Audacity 1, Mountain Princess 2, Jolly Beggar 3. Eight started. Won by one and a quarter lengths. Time, 1.514-
After the Elder Stakes a hostile demonstration occurred against R. Lewis, the jockey who rode the winner, Audacity, and who had also ridden him earlier in tho afternon in tho Goodwood Handicap, wherein he ran nowhere. The Derby stand patrons swarmed in and attempted to mob Lewis. The police and the course attendants surrounded Lewis and escorted h'.m to the dressing-room, amidst showers of abusive epithets.
A SYDNEY EVENT. SYDNEY. Mav 10. The Tattersall's Club Winter Stakes resulted:— E Willow 1, Green 2. Wool Off 3. Won easily by three lengths. Fifteen started. Time 211.
