MARTON MEETING. [By Telegraph.] (Special to " Standard.") MARTON, Sept 6. Beautiful weather prevailed for the first day of tho Marton Jockey Club's spring meeting. The attendance is large. Results; — Handicap Hurdles—Euroco 1, Tern 2, St. Wood 3. Scratched: Capt. Bull. Won all tho way by twenty lengths, Jivo lengths between second and third, Tirao 2.48 3-5. Shorts Handicap—Rangiatua 1, Morecambo 2, Kareroa 3. Scratched: Equitas St, Bill. Rangiatua led all the way and won fill out by a length and a half, a length between second and third. Timo 1.2. Hunt Club Steeplechase—Riro Atu 1, Connecticut, 2, Reckless 3. Won by a, length. Comershan and Camorus fell. Time 6.15j.
Owners aro reminded that acceptances for tho Danncvirke Racing Club's steeplechase meeting, to bo held on Wednesday next, close with tho secretary, Mr J. Spiers Freeman, on Friday.
