Gorton and Son, Ltd., report:—At Bulls on Monday wo had a fair entry Li snoop and a small entry of cattlo, and whoro reserves wore within roason, business was dono under tho hammer. On Thursday we hold a most successful salo of grade Jorsoys on behalf of Mr S. J. Johnston. Tho cows, though in low condition, wero a particularly nico lot and wero all high testers. They elicited tho keenest competition and mado from £lO 5s to £lB 2s 6d, with an avcrago of £l3 lis, which is ono of the best averages obtained on the coast for a grado honl. Tho heifers mado.from £7 to £l6, averaging £lO 14s, and the woancr heifers mado from £3 5s to £5 17s 6d and averaged just on £4. Yearling Jersey bull £lO 10s, 2-vear Jersey bull £l3 13s, 3-year Jersey bull £l2 12s, grade Jersey bull 6,'jgns, Sundries and furniture made usual auction rates.

Newton King's weekly report is as follows:—At Urenui, on Monday, few young cattle woro yarded. A fow nice lines of springing heifers came forward, and wore well competed for, as also were store cows. The demand for steers was not so keen, but several lines changed hands; 13-month steers made £3 ss, calves to yearlings 33s 6d, springing, heifers,:good, £5 13s to £6; Jersey, do., £8; storo cows £3 5s to £3 13s; forward cow 6 £4 2s 6d; fat cows £5 to £sl2s; store pigs 16s. At Stratford, on Tuesday, there was ft good yarding of mostly grown cattle,. All calves, except steers, met with good competition, and sold well. Bidding for 18-month to 2-year steers was not so brisk, but most of this class were placed; privately. Calves woro in small supply, and thero was an unsatisfied demand for this class. Mixed calves made 28s to 355, 10-month to 20-month steers £3 ss, 2 to; 2i-year steers £4 6s 6d, store cows £2 155. : to £3 6s 6d, Jorsey heifor calves £2 6s 6d, 15-month Jersey heifers £3 14s 6d, llolstein do £3 17s 6d, springing cows £6 to £7los, fat and forward ewc6 8s 6d. ■ At Stonoy Creek, on Wednesday, there, was a fair yarding and attendance, with. good inquiry for all classes, especially calves.
