Women and girls participated in the stoning of the police at the Clydachvale pit. Several ugly rushes took and some mounted police were almost unhorsed. Subsequently the police were reinforced and re-lit the. boiler fires, and saved the horses, which were- in danger. Thousands of strikers marched to the Cambrian Combine's colliery at Rhondda Valley, headed by two men wearing white shirts and with halters round their necks, and bearing the inscription "Take warning" across their breasts. The police guarding the colliery .were overpowered, and two were badly injured. The power station was captured, but subsequently the police were reinforced and dislodged the strikers.

The Council of the South Wales Miners' Federation, Mr Mabon presiding, rejected the Aberdare deputation'e proposal to convene a conference of the whole Federation to consider the best methods of assisting the fight in order to secure redress of the grievances. Then followed the, deputation's more draetic proposal for a general strike, and this was negatived. -The Council merely decided to submit the dispute to the Conciliation Board at Cardiff on Monday. Sixty strikers are in the hospital. A cavalry regiment has been sent from Swindon to Cardiff. The Premier has invited the men's representatives to confer "regarding the Cambrian dispute. BOILERMAKERS' AGREEMENT AGAIN REJECTED. LONDON, Nov. 8. In the second ballot over the boilermakers' agreement 15,563 voted for rejection and 5850 against, out of a voting strength of 50,000.
