In the House of Lords, Lord Hamilton, of Dalziel, replying to Earl Stanhope, detailed Australia's and New Zealand's customs regime and old age pensions. Earl Stanhope then criticised what he described as the Lord Advocate's Ureisms regarding the possibility of imports meeting the expenditure on old ago pensions
