A PROTEST FROM CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, April 8. Several lawyers are protesting strongly at the way the district is her ing left without a judge. Mr Justice Denniston is on twelve months' leave of absence, and no jiidge has been appointed to relieve him, the result being that only one sitting has been held this year, when Mr justice Sim presided. Banco and Chamber sittings have ceased, and there is a vast accumulation of work at the Supreme Court office. Representations are to be made to the Government by the Law Society.
