CLUB LOCKERS.

THEIR ABOLITION DEMANDED. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 11. The locker system was discussed at a meeting convened by the No-License Party, proceedings at times being somewhat lively. The speakers were Mr Taylor, M.P., Messrs L. M. Isitt, Avery, and Manning. The last-men-tioned alleged that Mr Avery was expelled from the Sydenham Working Men's Club for reasons other than any connected with the locker system. On the motion of Mr Taylor, seconded by Mr Isitt, it was resolved that this meeting desires to call the attention of the Government to abuses existing in connection with the sale of inTOxicants at Sydenham Working Men's Club, as alleged in the public statement of Mr Avery, a recent member of the Club, Committee, and urges immediate investigation of the matter by a Stipendiary Magistrate with a view to the character of the Club being cancelled, and the abolition of the locker system.
