A FATAL FIRE.
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. (Per Press association.;; CHRISTCHURCH, April 11. At the inquest on Daniel Buckett, burned to death in a tire at Richmond, Christchurch, on Sunday morning, a verdict was recorded of "accidental}' burned to death." Deceased's sons, in their evidence, stated that their lather had been given to drink. One son was sleeping in a tent in the garden about sixty yards from the house, but was unaware of the lire until wakened by a policeman. Another son stated that he last saw his father alive at 10.15 p.m. on Saturday. Ho was then perfectly sober, and was talking to a man on the road. This witness left shortly afterwards on a shooting expedition. A married woman, who saw deceased about a quarter of an hour later, stated that by the way he was speaking to a man on the road sho thought ho was intoxicated.
