EVENTS WORTH NOTING.
Nominations for the office of Mayor close on Wednesday, April 20. Druids meet to-night at 7.30. Meeting of.P.A.'s at conclusion of business. Anniversary social gathering of Congregational Church postponed till further notice. C. H. Usmar, tailor, of Main street, next Commercial Hotel, announces that he has formed his business into a company, which will place him in a position to be able to manufacture on a larger scale. The new company will be known as the "London Cash Tailoring Company," and they intend running the business on cash lines, which will enable them to turn out all classes of suits at reasonable rates. See prices in advt. on leader page. Mr Usmar has been retained as manager, and all accounts owing to him are payable to the company. • During his recent trip to Auckland, Mr J. P. Moore, manager, of the-well-known firm, the Rough Rider Clothing Co.-, concludcd arrangements by which he acquired a 50 per cent, interest in the business. The former limited company was wound up voluntarily, the new company being still under the management of Mr Moore, who intends to re-construct the working of the business, and hopes, by straight and honest dealing, to merit a continuance of the liberal patronage hitherto accorded. The Rough Rider brand of clothing is famous throughout New Zealand, and is well worthy of the great reputation it has. gained_in the past 30 years. It can only be obtained at the premises, next Clarendon Hotel, the Square, Palmerston North.
