Dickson-Poyndor succeeds Lord Plunkoi ', as Governor of New Zealand. Lord Plunket lias been made a, bearer of tho Grand Cross of St. Michael and St. George.
"Who's Who" gives the , following information regarding tho Dominion's new Governor: —Sir John Dickson-Poynder, Sixth Baronet, Conservative M.P. for Chippenham since 1892, was born in 1866. Ho married Anno, the daughter of the Second Baron Napier of Magdala in 1896. He assumed tho name of Poynder on his succession to a maternal uncle's property in 1881. He is a Major in the Wilts Yeomanry, having - served in the South African war, where he secured the Queen's medal with three clasps.
