REDUCED FREIGHTS FOR GRAIN.
AMERICAN COMPETITION. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) i'jiß rHESS ABHOCIATION.7 Received April 7, 8.55 a.m. OTTAWA, April 6. The American railways have reduced tho grain freights from Fort William. Ontario, to tho sea. with the objeefc of
capturing the Canadian grain trade. The Grand Trunk line has also reduced its rates and now asks that freights on the Great Lakes and Atlantic should be similarly reduced in order that tho Canadian rate from Fort William to Liverpool should equal the American rate.
