It was with deep regret we heard on Saturday hist of the death of Mrs Hamlin, wife of Mr J. Hamlin, of Raimatarau. after eighteen months of weary suffering-. She was a well-known and high-ly-respected resident, and will be a great loss to the community in general. The funeral, which took place on Monday, was largely attended., the interment taking place at Rongotea. Service was conducted by the Rev. 11. F. Wilson at the clmrch and also at. the cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs Gloyn, Airey, Vallendor. and Seddon.
Th-e Horticultural Committee met on Tuesday night, there being , present—Mr H. IT. Hunt (chair), Mesdames Penney, Brooke. Matherson. Davis, and Anion, Messrs Bowator. Sanson. Woods, Gloyn. Gibbs. and Matherson. Apologies were, read from Messrs Rocker and Aircy, and also Miss McKenzie. All arrangements are v.-01l in hand, and all duties allotted. Full" particulars arc to be advertised this week.
