MANAWATU ACCEPTANCES

Acceptances received last night for the Manawatu meeting next week assure a successful meeting if only fine weather is experienced. The response from owners and trainers is quite up to the beet records of the club, and is a distinct tribute to the abilities of Mr Henrys, the club's handicapper. The quality of the horses engaged in the handicap events is quite up to the average of the metropolitan meetings, whilst in the classic event, the Sixth Manawatu Stakes, the best of presentday sprinters are engaged. On the whole the meeting promises to be quite on a par with the most successful of the club's meetings since going to Awapuni. WELLINGTON RACES. (Per Press Association.) TRENTHAM, April 6.
