THE SALEYARDS.

RESCISSION OF PRTCVIOUSRESOLUTION. Cr. Palmer's notice of motion for the rescission of the resolution that the whole of the new stockyards bo concreted came up for discussion at the Council meeting last night. The Mayor informed councillors that the report of the Health Department was now to hand, and was to the effect that, providing ordinary precautions were taken it was not necessary for the public health that the yards be concreted. Cr. Palmer then moved:—That tho resolution carried at the ordinary meeting held on February 2. 1910, as follows, be rescinded: —"That the auctioneers be iiifomied that the cattloyards (only) must be concreted and connected with the sewer before being used." Cr. Armstrong seconded the motion, which was carried after Cr. Haydori had remarked that ho had not changed his mind on the subject, but opposition was futile.
