GOLF.

The annual meeting of the lady members of the Golf Club was held yesterday afternoon. There was a very good attendance. The first Tuesday in May was fixed upon as the date for the first medal competition. The season promises to be rich in trophies, prizes being offered yesterday by Mrs Abraham for the senior monthly bogey matches; Mrs Warburton for the junior monthly medal matches; Mrs Strang for the junior monthly bogey matches; Mrs Mcllae for the best aggregate of four gross scores returned in the medal competitions during the season; Mrs Mellsop for a competition to bo played at the end of the season open to all who beat or equal the par of the ground in any competition during the season. It was decided to hold the associates' open tournament during the first week in September, to follow the New Zealand ladies' championship meeting, which has been arranged for the 18th August at Christchurch. Officers were elccted for the ensuing year as follows: —Mrs L. A. Abraham (captain), Mrs Mellsop (hon." secretary), Mcscjanies Porritt, Warburton, and Fitzherbert (committee). The following new members were elected: — Mcsdamcs Blundell.. Potts, Adams, Lyons, F. Mason and liarman, and the Misses Sylvia Abraham, Wray, Coombcs, D. Waldcgrave and Lyons. Details of the new course at the links were explained to the meeting with the aid of a sketch plan lent by Mr A. Strang, and the meeting terminated after the adoption of the annual reporit, a copy of which appeared in the "Standard" yesterday.
