SALVATION ARMY HARVEST FESTIVAL.
The meetings and sale of work in connection with the Salvation Army harvest festival were continued last, night, in the Broad Street Hall. The Mayor (llr J. A. Nash) presided,, and with him on the platform was the Mayoress. Notwithstanding there was a good attendance. The Mayor, in his opening remarks, made complimentary reference to the attractive display made by the corps in their sale of work. Mr Nash also took occasion to thank the bandsmon for the excellent services rendered by them in supplying music to the All Nations' Pair. After a vote of tllanks, passed to the chair, on the initiative of Ensign Craven, the Mayor declared the sale open, and good busi--ness was done at all the stalls. Mesdames Adams and Allison had charge of the drapery; Mcsdamcs Bragg and Craven the refreshments; Mesdames Rowlands and Foster, ice cream and jellies; Misses Jackson. and Gillies, confectionery ; S. M. Jackson, fruit and vegetables; Bro. Jackson, telegraph. The band and the songsters rendered an excellent programme of music, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. The festival will be continued to-night when the young people's corps will, contribute the programme.
