Capt. Scott's tests of the motor sledges in Norway gave successful results. Each pulled a load of nineteen cwt on the snow.
The Archbishop of York has appointed the Rev. A. D. Tupper a canon. The rev. gentleman intends to devote himself to mission work, and 6ails on June 16 for New Zealand, where he will carry on for three months,a mission of help. Dennys, the shipbuilding firm, will launch the second Australian destroyer on April 9. Sir George Reid will christen the vessel. Lady Dudley is becoming convalescent. Ex-P resident Roosevelt and his son Kermit, who have been hunting big game in Africa, have arrived at Khartoum, where they met Mrs Roosevelt. OTTAWA. March 15.
In the Canadian House of Commons Sir-F. Borden. Minister for Defence, said General French's visit was only' semi official and had no special reference to mobilization. He would, however, bo given every facility to inspect the militia.
PARIS, March 15. The Seine "has fallen twenty feet and steamboats have resumed running.
