GREAT FLOOD IN WALES.
A DAM BURSTS. RHONNDA VALLEY INUNDATED. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.; (Peb Pbess Association.) LONDON, March 12. Enormous damage and heavy loss has been caused in Glamorganshire, Wales by floods, consequent on the bursting of a dam in Rhonnda Valley. The village of G'lydach was flooded, and several houses collapsed. .In on.; a mother and her infant were both killed in bed.
There wera many narrow escapes amongst -the residents of washed-out houses.
Nine hundred children in a schoolhouse were saved through the promptitude of the teachers and by the playground wall withstanding tho flood. The children were passed through tho windows to colliers wading in four feet of water.
The flood swept huge boulders on to the railway line, completely blocking traffic.
