MR ASQUITH'S RESIGNATION PREDICTED. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.,l (Per Press Association.) LONDON, March 13. Several newspapers anticipate that when the Lords reject or postpone the Commons' Veto resolutions, Mr Asquith will ask the King for guarantees or will appeal to the country. In the House of Commons, Mr Haldane, yielding to Opposition protests, promised to bring down the Army Annual Bill before Easter. He announced that ho w~as taking a sufficient supply for the Army for several months. The Unionists thanked Mr Haldanc for his conciliatory attitude.
Sir A. F. Acland Hood, Unionist M.P. for the Wellington District of Somerset, speaking at Wellington, anticipated Mr Asquith's resignation withinthreo months, for which a financial crisis was being prepared.
