AUCTION SALES. GREAT- SALE OF FURNITURE, Harry Palmer announces that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next he will conduct one' of the biggest sales ever held in the town, on behalf of Mr Grau, whose lease of the Occidental 'Hotel has expired, when he will offer to the pubhd the whole of the fui-nituro and fittings lately contained in the above mentioned hotel. The sale takes place in the Lyceum Theatre, and will commence at 12 o'clock each day. The sale catalogue is a lengthy one. and it may/be safely said that it includes everything required in a home, from a roll top desk to an enamel bath. Everything has been renovated where required, so that the goods are in first-class order. Buyers" are particularly requested to be in attendance sharp at 12. as the auctioneers wish to have the sale completed on Wednesday night, and as there is so much, to soli this cannot be done unless a start is matte each day punctually. Catalogues are <!> tainable at the .Lyceum, or at tho auctioneers. The hall being open all day to day for inspection of the goods a- great, number of people availed themselves of the opportunity to see the different articles this morning, and it-- is rarely such a large and varied lot of furniture, silver, pianos, etc., and everything such as is to be found in a hotel, is to be seen in one room. It is a sight well worth' seeing. There is absolutely no reserve. Everything is' for absolute sale.

IMPORTANT SALE OF DAIRY COWS A final reminder is given by Mourcscy and Co. of one of the largest clearing sales of dairy cows held in the district this season. On Monday the auctioneers sell Mr St. Clair Jounneaux's very fine herd of 80 choice dairy cows, selected from good dairy strains, at his wellknown farm, Raukawa,' ori the NapierAslihurst road, commencing at 12 noon. The owner lias spared no expense in the building up of his herd, and is compelled to sell, being unable to obtain suitable labour. Coining in as they do in July, August and September they should l.c eagerly sought after, and it is anticipated that there will be a large number of buyers. Special attention is drawn to the line of 100 well bred ewes, 4 p.b. rams, 2 p.b. bulls. 30 pigs, milk cans and sundries. Luncheon will be provided. As advertised in to-day's issue the Manawatu Auctioneering Co. are instructed to sell without. reserve all Mrs Young's furniture and effects at her residence, Hereford street, on Wednesday, IGth inst,, at 1 p.m. The house will bo open for inspection from 10 o'clock on day of sale, and from 7 to 8 on Tuesday evening. The auctioneers commend this lot as being good, clean, well-kept, little worn stuff, and as Mrs is leaving Palmerston they must be sold. There are amongst other lines a nice Chesterfield and easy chair, good carpet square very little, worn, 2 children's cots, handsome sideboard,2ete. Full particulars appear in advertising column.

STOCK REPORTS. The New Zealand Loan andMcrcantilc Agency Co., Ltd., report for week ending March 11: —At Kimbolton on Tuesday we had a good yardiiig of sheep and---a medium entry of cattle. Buyers were present, and a good sale resulted at the following prices: —Wether lambs 7-S cull ditto 4s sd, ewe lambs 8s 6d, cull ewes 2s Bd, aged ewes 7s 7d, 2-th ewes lis 3d, 2-th wethers 10s lid, cows and calves £2. 18-months heifers in calf £3 ss, weancr Shorthorn steers (good) £2, bulls 30s, dairy cows £5 10s to'£6, large quantity of sundries made usual rates. At Mr Towler's furniture sale prices wore also maintained. At Rangiwahia sale on Wednesday we had a fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle. Wo wero successful in placing the bulk of our entry at the following rates: —Mixed aged ewes Bs, 8s 2d, to 8s lOd, mixed lambs (small) ss, 2-th ewes lis 6d, a number of rams were sold a| prices up to 2gs, bullocks £5 ss. cows and calves £3 10s. At Feilding on Friday we had a heavy yarding of sheep, which met with a good sale, practically all entries being sold under the hammer. We. quote: — Cull ewes 2s id, cull lambs 3s 3d, rape ditto 7s 9d, f.m. ewes 6s 6d, 7s 6d, 7s lid, 8s 3d. 8s 7d, 8s Bd, fat ewes 9s 6d to 10s, 3 and 4-year ewes 12s 6d. wethers 10s lOd t® lis 9d and 12s 3d.

WELLINGTON WOOL SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —We held our fifth sale of the season on the 11th inst., when we offered a.-catalogue of 1106 bales (out of a total offering by all brokers of 2387 bales), and sold 987 bales. There was a representative attendance of buyers from all parts, and competition throughout the sale. As is usually the case at this sale, the catalogue mostly consisted of lambs and odd lots of wool. Priccs for coarse lots were fairly well maintained, though several inferior lots which were passed at last sale sold at a slight advance. Better classes were, as compared with last sale, if anything,' in buyers' favour. Bellies and pieces were slightly easier, and lambs were about on a par with recent sales.
