THE SAYONARA CUP.
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Per Press Association.) MELBOURNE, March 11. In the first race for the Sayonara Cup the Sayonara boat Cuhvalla 111. by eight minutes. The course was ten knots to windward and back. The wind ,was light and the seas smooth. Culwalla 111. crossed the line three seconds ahead of the Sayonara and kept her advantage time, but at the end of the hour the Sayonara was a minute ahead, which, rounding the buoy, had increased to nine minutes five seconds. ' The wind freshened a bit for the return journey, and the Culwalla managed to make -up some grounds, but the Sayonara proved too good, and won easily by eight minutes twenty-six seconds. *
