SHANNON.
Mr and Mrs Webb, o£ Maranui, left yesterday for Sydney via Wellington, for a six weeks' trip. During their trip they will visit Mr A. Seifert in the Blue Mountains. On Saturday the Shannon Rifle Uub will hold their first shoot for the Club's silver cup. The conditions aro seven •shots at 200, 500 and 600 yards. One of the prinicpal attractions at the bazaar in aid of Mother Mary Aubort's Home of Compassion, which is to oe held next week in the Druids' Hall, wi.l be dancing and figure marching by little girls trained by Mrs May. The chief feature will be The March or All Nations" in \ostume. Several new vocalists will also appear. A meeting of the Shannon and Tokoma ru Road Racing Club was held in the Club Hotel on Wednesday night. Mr A Thompson occupied the chair. Those present were:-Messrs Sullivan, W. Moynihan, Brown, B. Spencer, T. Doherty, W. Berquest, M. Moynihan and Muir (secretary). It was dccided that the race should be from the Club Hotel, Shannon, to the Express Company s stables at Levin from there to Makerua station, finishing at the Club Hotel, about 28 miles in all; to bo open for competitors from Qtaki, Levin, lokomam and Foxton, and to take place on Wednesday, April 6th at 2.30 p.m. Entries to close on April 2nd with Mr M Moynihan. the secretary, and Mr Phillips. Levin. The following officers were electedlI andicappcr Mr A. Thompson; starter. Mr W. Berquest. timekeeper. Mr J. Tilling; chcckcrs .Mr Phillips at Levin, and Mr W. Moynihan. It was decided that it should be a 5s sweep, which should be divided into first, second and third pmes Mr M. Moynihan kindly donated £1 Is for fast- ( est' time. j
