BENEFIT CONCERT.
At a meeting of sympathisers in the Council Chambers this afternoon, at which the Mayor presided, it was decided to arrange a benefit concert in aid of a fund.that is being raised to send Mr Chas. Leamington to London in order that he may consult a specialist in the hope of having his eyesight restored. It was also decided to solicit subscriptions in aid of the fund, and a 6trong committee was appointed for the purpose. Subscription lists were opened, and a substantial amount was promised in the room. The benefit concert will be held ifl the Opera House on April 8.
