WOODVILE, March 10. At the quarterly meeting of the Pahiatua Licensing Committee an application from M. O'Dowd for the transfer of the Kumeroa Hotel license to him was withdrawn. The police report on the Hunterville Hotel was held over till the annual meeting. This hotel was lately burned down, and application for a temporary license was granted under stringent conditions as to providing accommodation for travellers within 10 days, and also as to prompt steps being taken to rebuild the hotel, otherwise the license will be dealt with. A cordial farewell was given by' the committee to Sergt. Cruickshank, who goes to Napier.
