A. AND P. SHOWS.

HOROWHENUA

To-morrow the Horowhenua A. and P. Association will hold its annual show under what promises to be favourable climatic conditions. Large entries have been received and everything points to a successful fixture. PAHIATUA. The Pahiatua A. and P. Association will hc>ld its first annual show to-mor-row -on the racecourse. As- might be expected in so essentially a stock district entries arc exceptionally good, and with a most energetic executive and interested public it only requires fine weather to make the initial votnure a great success. DANNEVIRKE.

On Friday next Dannevirko will be en fete, the occasion being the first annual show of the Southern Hawke's Bay district, held under the auspices of the recently-formed Uannevirke District A. and P. Association. Though but a few months have elapsed since the Associa-' tion was even talked of, its career has been from the outset marked by energy and enthusiasm, and there is every reason to expect that the Show itself will be a signal success. So widespread is the interest which has been taken in the event, not only in the Dannevirke district, but also by residents between here and Napier, in the Wairarapa, Manawatu, and even further afield, that a big influx of visitors is expected on Friday next. In fact it is anticipated that the town will be full to overflowing. The Dannevirke Recreation Ground, where the show is to be held, is prettily situated, picturesque, and sheltered, and has the additional advantage of being only about ten minutes' walk from the railway station and centre of the town. The pretty gardens at the entrance are now at their best, and the fresh, green lawns and bright flower borders must delight the eye and senses of every visitor. In the various competitions there will be ample attraction. For the Maiden Hunters, Open Hunters, and Ladies' Hunters, there are big fields entered, while the class for Ladies' Hack is a particularly strong one. The only trouble is it all going to be got into one day ? Amongst the competitors are a number who take part in the Hawke's Bay and Palmerston Shows, and we commend to our readers the idea of an excursion to Dannevirke as one they are not likely to regret. Ori the other hand they will most certainly look forward to its repetition. The train services from Napier and Hastings suits admirably, and railway excursion fares from Palmerston North having been arranged for the occasion we hope that a large number of our readers will make up their minds to visit the Da.nnevirke Show.
