(Peb Pbess Association.! WALROA, Feb. 7. What is considered to be a deliberate attempt to burn St. Andrew's schoolroom was discovered early, on Saturday morning by a local solicitor. When passing the building he found a box in the porch burning fiercely. Inside it was standing the top of a case of kerosene, and in ten minutes the building would have been in flames, involving the new church close at hand and also private .dwellings. Incendiarism is strongly' suspected. GREYMOUTH, Feb. 7. ,Hon. T. Mackenzie is visiting Lake Brunner arid Rotomana settlement todav. He proceeds to Westport per the Arahura to-night, returning to Greymouth on Thursday, when he will be entertained at a banquet.
