STOCK SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report for the week ending February 4: —At Apiti on Tuesday wo had a small entry of cattle and sheep which sold at tho following rates: 2-th wethers 10s 9d, wether lambs 6s 3d, forward owes 7s 9d, aged rams 12s, small weaners 20s, weaner steers 28s, yearling heifers £2 11s, 2-year heifers £3 7s od, steers £4" to £4 10s, 18-months steers (good) £3 10s, dairy cows £4 4s. At Feilding on Friday we had a good yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle. There was a fair inquiry for sheep and a good clearance was effected. We quote:—Store wethers 11s 3d, forward wethers to 11s Bd, rape lambs to 6s 7d, store cows £2 17s 6d, forward cows £3 14s, fat cows £4.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Eketahuna stock sale held yesterday as follows: —Sheep came forward up to advertised numbers, but the sales now being held weekly account for the yarding being smaller than those previously held. During the last month the attendance was satisfactory, but outside buyers were conspicuous by their absence, and the sale for sheep dragged somewhat at auction, but on the whole wo made a good clearance, only one vendor being compelled to take his sheep home. Cattle were well competed for, business at auction being animated, young steers being particularly in demand. Quotations: —Cattle, well-grown bullocks £5 6s, steers £3 16s to £3 18s 6d, 2-ycar-old steers £3 9s, empty heifers £3 16s, store cows £2. Prices were a little in advance of last sales' rates. We quote as follows:—Wool: XB, 7ad to lO4CI, lambs 8d to lOgd, bellies and pieces 5d to 6gd, black wool up to 6d, locks and pieces to 4d, pieces 4d to 5%d, locks 3|d.
