THE LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. - (By Electric Telegbaph—Copvbight.) (Per Peess Association.) SYDNEY, April 27. In the ladies' 1 doubles championship, Misses S. and D. Gordon beat 'Misses -Travers and Grey 6—4, 2—6, 6—4. In the ladies' singles, Miss Stewart beat Miss Nunnelly after a fine game 6—3, 4—6, 6—3, Miss Powdrell beat Miss Lee 6 —2, 6—o. The Council of the Lawn Tennis Association decided to set up a special council to deal .with the Davis Cup contests, representation to be based on population, New Zealand and Australia to continue as one nation for the purposes of the International contests.
