GERMAN WARSHIPS' MOVE MENTS.
GOING TO SAMOA,

A Canton telegram to the New York Herald says it is believed that Germany intends to annex an island in the Pacific and transfer her naval base there. The supposition is strengthened by the fact that the Commandant of the German, squadron at Canton has shipped aboard a German steamer a quantity of food supplies, guns, ammunition, and materials for the erection of barracks; The destination of the vessel is unknown. The British cruiser Flora has been ordered to watch the vessel. Received March 15, 11.45 a.m. SUVA, March 15. Arrived.—Leipsig and Kolya. The first named is the German cruiser mention in the cables.
