ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

George Beagrim, "{he thwse-year-old son of Mr A. W. Seagrim, carpenter, of Adelaide, was last week playing in hia father's workshop, where a circular saw was in motion. When the father's attention was directed elsewhere the little fellow came in contact with the saw, and his face was cut clean down the centre. The doctors hold out little hope of recovery. A somewhat exciting train incident was witnessed on Wednesday morning at Bunnythorpe (writes the Dominion's travelling correspondent). The early morning train was just pulling out from Bixnnythorpe on its way to Fielding when a young man in a frock coat and top hat, representing a musical company, was seen making a desperate rush to board one of the cars. The train was just gathering speed, and, as the expression on the young man's face showed "do or die," passengers sat tight and watched hard. For one insta'nt the black-coated figure was seen on the line, then it disappeared in what appeared to be a headlong dive near a cattle stop. There were sounds as if somebody were being dragged, and some lady passengers screamed, "He's under," when with a crash and a jar the enginedriver put on the emergency brake, and the train stood still. Some passengers who got out in fear that the worst had happened were astonished to see the young man, dust-covered and nerve-shaken, but safe. It appeared that he slipped as he clutched at the handrails, and was falling and being dragged at the very instant the emergency brake was put on. The prompt action of the engine-driver eaved the young man from a serious injury, if not from death.
