AUSTRALIAN LABOUR TROUBLES.
(By Eloetrin Tflletrrnph—Hopyright.) Per Press Association.
SYDNEY, March 24. The wharf labourers' strike conference was continued to-day. After the adjournment the press represntatives were informed that the position was not any more critical than yesterday. A definite statement whether there will be peace or an indefinite continuation, of the struggle will probably be given to-morrow afternoon. There is reason to believe, however, that the position has somewhat improved.
The Deep Sea Stevedores' Association has issued summonses against 14 members of. the -Wharf Labourers' Union for breaches of the award.
The painters' strike is extending and 750 are now idle. A few firms have conceded the demands of the strikers.
