THE NAPIER CARNIVAL. Per Press Association. NAPIER, March 23. The Carnival bowling tournament was continued to-day, though interrupted by occasional heavy showers. The final of the rinks matches was won by the St. John's (Wanganui) team, which beat Gisborne by 23 to 21. In the pairs matches, Martin and Martin (25) boat Crowley and Bcateon (19), Terry and Sim (24) beat Porteous and Goodcr (18), Bull and Yates (26) beat Williamson and Ricketts (12), Bull and Yates (25) beat. Terry and Simm (24). This leaves Martin and Martin, Dean arid Tabuteau. Co well and Williams, and Yates and Bull to play off for the first position. A knock-out rink ma tell for trophies presented by Neal and Close, Ltd., was commenced. Crowley's team (22) beat Rev. J. W. Haywavd's team (12), Williams' team (20) beat Hands' (Hastings) team (15), Tabuteau's ream (17) beat J. P. Smith's team (10). liiekctt's team (30) beat Beatson's (Hastings) team (15). St. John's team (22) beat Kennedy's team (6). Bull's team (20) beat F. G. Smith's team (16), Williams' team (21) beat Porteous' team - (10).
