Prices all round declined a halfpenny to a penny compared with three weeks ago. Collarit, Submarine, and Cross Battery are scratched for the Sydney Cup. The painters' employed in many large city firms struck' for an increase of a penny an hour, and 300 are thrown idle. A number of Government contracts are involved. PERTII, March 22. Smith was executed l'or the murder of Clinton, at Day Dawn, on January sth. Death was instantaneous.
