Tho river is subsiding at Rockhampton and Bundaborg. Some of the'wharves in the low-lying portions of the towns aro partially submerged.. Many other places report floods and damage to tho railway line. The mail traffic is badly disorganised. The manager of a station at J\ydrie took refuge in a tree and remained foodless for two days and two nights .till the flood subsided.
