FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA.

The River Namoi at Gunnedah is higher Jtha'n it has ever been known to be. . , Weowaa is completely surrounded by water, and has had no communication with outside towns for three days. Many animals arc being washed away. At Narrabri the main street is partially under water, and all the surrc uncling district is inundated. BRISBANE, March 19. Tho river is subsiding at Rockhampton and Bundaborg. Some of the'wharves in the low-lying portions of the towns aro partially submerged.. Many other places report floods and damage to tho railway line. The mail traffic is badly disorganised. The manager of a station at J\ydrie took refuge in a tree and remained foodless for two days and two nights .till the flood subsided.
