Mr Brown had no trouble in getting the employers to consent ro the. agreement, and when the Court salnext morning announced the fr.ct. The same day, the Court, having finished its business on the. West Coast, rose at 1 p.m.. and it was. not till 7 o'clock that evening that the 'miners came to a decision. How. therefore, could the men reasonably corftend that Mr Leitcli should have made a sateinent in Court when tho Court had finished its sitting?
