Reports from Morocco state that on Monday troops under General d'Amade, the French commander in the Rabat district, attacked and routed 2000 Moors near Fawi el Urimi. He declared protection for Australia was a fixed policy, with preference to England. McLeod, an ex-convict, committed a burglary at the residence of, and shot, Mr Montgomery Fleming, a well-known Glasgow resident, who thrice fired his revolver and killed McLcod. The hearing of tho petition for the compulsory winding up. of Sir James Laing and Sons was adjourned in order to cross-examine witnesses.
