METEROLOGICAL REPORT.

The meteorological report for the week ending 9 o'clock yesterday morning is as follows, and is compiled from the records kept by Dr Martin:— The barometric pressure was, as usual, steady, but nearly two points several weeks past. The daily average was 29.932. The temperature, as shown by the attached thermometer, fluctuated to a fair extent, and shows a steady drop (with the exception of the 14tb inst., when it rose degrees) throughout the week. The daily average was 64.64, as against .65.42 for last week, and 66.5 for the preceding week. The grass temperature was rather lower than usual, the daily average being 38. The underground temperature fluctuated, to a fair degree, the daily average being 60.2, as against 66.57 for the week before. The usual fluctuations were observable in the records of the dryness and humidity of the atmosphere, the daily averages of which are as follows:— Maximum dry 71.3, minimum dry 53.4, maximum wet 64.9, minimum wet 49.6. The wind velocities showed a marked decrease upon those of tho previous period, the highest being 260 miles for the twenty-four hours preceding tbe morning of the 15th inst. The total velocity recorded was 990 miles, with a daily average of 141.4 miles. Last week the daily average was 221.42. The weekly rainfall registered was .18.
