MAIN TRUNK LINE.
(Per Press Association.) TAIHAPE, June 1. The section from Taihape to Mataroa of the North Island Main Trunk railway was formally opened by Mr Remington, member for Rangitikei, this afternoon. Several congratulatory speeches were made. A telegiam was read from Mr McNab, Acting-Miuister of Railways, regretting his absence from the official opening. A large number of visL tors were present.
