He reports that lie had glorious weather, the walx across the Island being magnificent. The weather was had during the first low days, hut cleared up. WELLINGTON, Jan. 30. A deputation from the Industrial Association this morning urged the .Acting-Premier to assist advanced pupils at the Technical Schools to attend tlie Exhibtion for its educational value. Ih 1 Hall-Jones, i.u replying, remarked on the value of a visit to the Exhibtion to both old and young. He believed that it would be a good idea that an opportunity should be afforded all young people in the colony of seeing what they might not have a chance of seeing for possibly ten or fifteen years. He had already provided for school children traveling on the railway to the Exhibition at a rate of 2s per 100 miles, ■while accommodation at the Exhibition was provided for them at 2s a day. He would sec if they could do whether the Government could do the same for apprentices and anything by way of subsidy. The public would have to look forward to a deficit on the Exhibtion, but for his part he did not wish to draw too heavily on the public purse by granting too great facilities for visiting it. He would consult the Minister for Education and the Minister in charge of the Exhibition and see what could be done.
