BLENHEIM, This day,
A Chinaman named Philip Falkner was yesterday fined £L 0 on a charge of being illegally in possession of a preparation of opium. A second charge of smoking opium was dismissed owing to insufficient evidence being offered. An appeal is pending. Charley Chow Sing, market gardener, Picton, was committed for trial on a charge of committing an indecent pet with the intention of assaulting a boy, aged 10, & resident of Picton, who had gone to his place for vegetables.
