Reformers Arrested.
(Received August 23, 7.55 a.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, August 22. The police have imprisoned M. Milakoff, Professor of Russian history, at St.. Petersburg University, Professor Dennisiwitch and 15 other reformers, who are suspected of preparing for a visit of the Liberal candidates for the National Duma elections. The reason given by the police is that the reformers were arranging a meeting to condemn the recent manifesto.
A band of Socialists, trying to enter Warsaw, had a fierce encounter with the Cossacks. Ten Socialists were killed and several wounded.
