Eepertibg the arrival of the canoeyaoht Tiliknm at London, Lloyds, of September llth, says:—Captain John O. Voss, aged 46, a native of Briefsh Columbia, and for many yt ars master of Nova Scotia ships, haa just accomplished a remarkable voyage in a two-and-a-ha'f-ton canoe, by covering 40.000 miles in three years three months 12 days. Captain Voss began his journey from Victoria, British Columbia, on May 21st, 1901, having, as his sole companion, Mr Luxon, a s-~>n of the former proprietor of the Winnipeg Free Press. Mr Luxon left the canoe at one of the intermediate calling places, and Captain Voss engaged another mate, who, unfortunately, fell overboard 1200 miles from Sydney, carrying with him tbe only compass of which the canoe conld boast. From Auckland Captain Vosb went an 18 days' trip to the New Hebrides, and his health having failed somewhat the adventurous voyager made for Thursday Island, in the Torres Straits, hoping to obtain medical aid. The island was, however, found to be uninhabited. A run of 2000 miles across the Indian Ocean bro'agh t the Tiliknm to Rodriguez Island, which is a cable station, and here the canoe was reprovisioned. Subsequently Captain Voss landed at Durban, and went on to Ladysmith, Colenso, Pretoria and East London. From Capetown he voyaged to St. Helena, and reached Pernambuco on May 21st, exactly three years from the date of first sailing. Eesuming his course, after 30 days' sickness, good weather prevailed in the North Atlantic, and the 22 days' run ended at Margate, where Captain Voss was welcomed by a large concourse of people.
