- The Standard says Kuroki is pressing the enenxy eastward into the mountains. The Eussian case is desperate. The Japanese have captured, 14 guns and aro steadily harassing tho retreating Bussiaris. Kuropatkin is frequently under fire. A shell burst near him. An unconfirmed Mukden telegram states that Kuropatkin, with, two- reserve divisions, drove into Nodzu's centre on Monday, inflicting a crushing blow and capturing many guns and' one hundred prisoners. Heavy trains of sixty carriages are running on the Trans-Siberian railway. -'.'.-. The supply of surgeons in the Far East is utterly inadequate. Thousands of wounded are unattended. .; .There are heavy losses in the regi-. ments composed of Jews, Finns, and Poles.
