AUCKLAND, July 23. An interesting sequel to the recent resignations of two warders of Mount Eden gaol occurred in the S.M. Court this afternoon, when Leonard M. Jay, 'a prisoner, awailidng': trial, sued Warder James . O'Reilly' for £100 damages 'for al'lqged as&„ul|t. The assault is stated to have taken place on May 26th, and was the same as tbat complained of by MrBaumc in the House of Represehta--tives, when it was stated that the incident occurred while the prisoner was resisting an attempt to photograph Mm. The case has not concluded.
