Cheistchubch, May 24. In tho Divorce Court in. the case Gordon v. Gordon, his Honor.dismissed the petition on the ground that respondenthad not failed to provide for his wife's maintenance. Auckland, May 24. The Governor was farewelled to-night at a smoke concert by the member* of the Auckland Garrison Officers' Club of which his Excellency is a member. There was a good attendance and the function was very successful. The Governor entertained the veterans at dinner at the Veterans' Home to-day, Napibe, May 24. The Rev. Hayward, of Fordell, is to be given a call to Port Ahuriri Presby- , terian Church.

Wellington, May 24. It was decided to-night -at a joint meeting of the Exhibition and Industrial Association Committee to postpone the Wellington Exhibition, providing that the Government agree to postpone its international exhibition for at least a year. It will be held in November, 1905. The general opinion of the meeting was that under the existing circumstances to endeavour to hold the Wellington Exhibition at the time originally proposed—the end of the present yearwould be to invite failure. A subcommittee was appointed to select a site for next year, and an effort will be made to obtain the Basin Reserve for the purpose.
