LONDON, May 19. Ihe Japanese have secretly placarded Niuchwang, including ihe Itussiftii^ quarters, ■ wanning .the Chinese not to fear their coming or asking them to collect transport carts and mules. The Chinese, at Fenghuemiheng, are indignant at the Russians llceing without honoring their huge paper issue. The Japanese are still removingl the mines from Kerr Bay, but havealready safeguarded navigation. The Japanese, near Kaichan, captured a commissariat train, restoring the carts and animals ;:> ii'ioir native drivers. Owing to the subsidence of the line through rain, a train, northwards of Mukden, was' derailed. Thirty persons were killed and injured. Received May 20, 10.51 a.m. LONDON, May 19. Russians arriving at Chefoo report a- disaster to two Japanese warships. This possibly refers to the 3liyako and the torpedoer at Kerr Bay. .
