The bowling season in Palmerston will bo opened to -ihoitow afternoon. ' ' "'.'.. ' " " ■ .
The. Northern Bowling Association has agreed to- Jan. 11 as the date for the opening of the- big tournament to> be held in ; Auckland
this year. Australian Clubs are to be invited to send rinks, and it is to be hoped that they will accept and thereby lend an intercolonial flavour to the gathering.
Already the Auckland Bowling Association have the preparations, for the big tournament well in hand, and a splendid prize list will be assured when the time comes, as already citizens have subscribed over £50 for trophies. ISlaborate arrangements wiy also be made for the entertainment of bowlers from other parts.
There is probability of several more clubs becoming affiliated with the Northern-Bowl-ing Association.
The proposed visit of the English team to the colonies has booii abandoned.
