Borough Council.
I The Borough Council met this morning to consult with Mr Vautier, architect, with reference to the Municipal building conditions. There were present—Messrs R. Edwards (in the chair), Wood, Haydon, Cook, Webb-Johnson, Guy, Copeland, Mowlem, and France. The conditions for the proposed buildings were fully gone into with Mr Vautier, and the percentage of the commission was raised from 2fc per cent, to 5 per cent, on the cost. One or two minor alterations were also made. Mr Vautier said very plainly that the only actual objection to the. present conditions was in asking for too much from th? architects, while only £5000 is available for the work. It was agreed that plans should be got in for tho whole work, but so arranged that the Council could elect, if I necessary, to build only x% pp,rt «vt present if so desired-
