Farewell Social.
Last evening a pleasant little function took place at Devinc's Empire Hotel, when Mr B. It. Hogg, ot the Union Bank, was entertained by his fellow boarders nnd presented with a handsome ease ol .Mi Ivor-mounted 'pipes, prior to his departure for Napier. Mr Ford Hankins occupied the chair and a pleasant evening was spent. All were unanimous ln their expressions of goodwill, and general regret was felt, at Mr Hogg's departure from amongst the Empire boarders, where lie had made himself extremely popular. Mr Hogg took his departure by the midday train, a Maori war-cry and three ringing cheers being given by his friends as the train moved oil.
